They are designed for worldwide production use.
They will run and operate in many different ways and in some cases better, just ask anyone with a stock car that's had it tuned. They are not pushed to their max and they can be optimized in various ways for various factors.
Many things are installed for fail safes or to offer products to a larger market, here in the south I don't worry about the TB freezing or my oil taking along time to warm up. Until I start tracking the car I will not get an oil cooler and then I will still have it thermostatically controlled because oil that is too cool is not good either.
This is the modification thread so these are things we've done to our cars that suit us best. Take it or leave it.
