Personally, I don't think so. You get used to the initial braking (bite) point of the pedal wherever it is, and in an "oh shiite" moment you are generally hitting the pedal fast and hard anyway, I don't think there'd be a noticeable difference in the real world.

This. With my 225 Conti Extremecontact DW tyres braking is phenomonal, in the dry the ABS just won't kick in because all 4 tyres are absolutely stuck to the asphalt. Tyres are everything.
