Oh definitely. My passion & excitement for cars and engineering are both rooted in the same principles, and he definitely knows that. He asks me about every part I upgrade, what it does, how it works. From torsional spring rates to rotational kinetic energy to thermodynamics, he gets it all.
Similarly, he jokes that I've taken to our 3d modeling & analysis software like it's a video game, and I tell him, "well, I've played and modified a lot of video games in my day." Got to love turning the conventional wisdom on its head, ("video games are a waste of time", etc.)
Sometimes I worry he's going to think I've missed my calling as a race car engineer or something.
