The Pilot is a fat/wide vehicle. We put 8 in ours quite often. But we have never tried 3 adults in the 3rd row. Tribeca's 3rd row is much tighter but, that is hip wise. Any 3rd row is going to have a shallow floor.

You need to see if your kids thighs can handle the shallow floor. The 2nd row on the Pilot moves forward to give more leg room to the 3rd row. But the floor is still shallow.
MDX is sweet but, different trans than the Pilot. More sporty so horrible gas mileage on the hwy.
