lower timing by the ~10 that the car is already pulling, reset the ECU and see if the ECU tries to pull ~10 timing again.
If not: your problem was too much timinig
If so: you problem is something else [maybe noise similar to what you talk about with the UP]
Your AF Learning values are jacked up. Are you running an aftermarket intake? If not, you have a vacuum leak that you need to fix.
