If you get a PS2, expect to wait a while for anything worth playing on it. It's a cool piece of hardware though. My suggestion is to WAIT for XBOX and GameCube to launch before buying anything.

Yes, the GameCube looks like a kid's toy. Last I heard these were videoGAMES. It's a slightly better system (hardware wise) than the PS2 from what people are saying (I'm good friends with one of the guys involved in developing and managing the new Metroid title, so my information is reliable). As for XBOX, at least you put the word "probably" in there, cause your theory is wrong (how do I know? Because I'm developing something for it, and know many others who are as well).
