Hmmm. I bet that is why the vw's would push start so easily, but the honda's are electrical too...

I think the scenario for push starting has to be just right. You can't have a completely dead battery otherwise you would never get a spark for ignition. However the amount of current required to get the starter to turn is huge so it would be easy to drain the battery past this point. When the battery has enough juice to run the fuel pump and spark plugs but not enough to run the starter, push starting should work.
