When you see the gasket you'll understand. The airbox halves have a gap between them that is larger than silicone or epoxy will fill. I don't mind DIYs... hell, I was DIY'ing my RS before most of you even heard of one but some things really should be done right. Either remove the airbox and replace with an aftermarket intake or seal the box correctly.
