I saw you and Kastle (I think) there in the morning (when I was not driving all that well). I wondered why you two didn't run. We had a blast.
You know, I'm not sure what Simon was running. I know he was having trouble with 1st gear all day and he had a leaky front tire that he finally popped of the bead. He dropped out early in the second (or was it third) set of runs. (We got three full sets. I probably ran the course nearly 30 times yesterday - great seat time.)
There's no way I'd have won if Simon had continued to drive. I'm just going by what the SCCA guys said. Maybe Simon really did have fast time and they just "lost" the time card.
I was having such a good time they might not have had the heart to tell me.
That dude with the SHO and I were in a pretty heated battle. He and I exchanged setting top times probably 3 times. He could sure throw that SHO around the course. I took a ride with him later in the day. (He and I were giving rides after the rallycross. I drove an SCCA top dog (I believe it may have been the president) and a rally driver through the course to show them the line.)
BTW: One of the guys who rode with me took video of it through the windshield. I gave him some cash and my address and asked him to send me a copy. I'll try to post it, if I can. It was a great run (even with three people in the car) and the video looked good from what I saw of it.
I'll post some pics and whatever else I can later.
