Thanks, I found that article on my computer. I had downloaded it awhile ago and saw the stuff in the end about the left side not lining up correctly is fine as long as the tooth count is correct. So I'll just have to fire her up and see if she works. Hopefully I torqued the heads down correctly...
I guess my question to everyone that reads this post is, does it matter which 2.5L you have (twin or single cam)? I think they switched to single cam in '99, but I have the lil 2.2 anyway.
Yes, the 2.5 went from dohc to sohc in 99. This post is basically referring to the 98 and older ej25. SOHC won't have to worry about aligning the cam gears (intake/exhaust) in relation to each other cause there is only one cam gear for each head. If you have a 98 2.2 then it should be a SOHC. You can tell if it's a SOHC or DOHC by looking at the timing belt cover. If it has 2 gears on each side of the engine then it's DOHC or 1 on each then its SOHC.
