So, you should have a rad cap at the original location, and one on the coolant chalice of the EJ20, right? When Lachute did my swap, they cut the pressure valve off of the rad cap in the stock location, leaving the one on the chalice.
I'm not sure if that could be part of the problem or not, but it's something to check at least.
