Haha, damn right I studied, but I couldn't find much in this direction...

I thought about EJ22T brand new, but there is still too much uncertainty as to what is forged and what is not (that might have been discussed before but I couldn't seem to locate the source confirming anything). I read somewhere that with the SOHC heads on the EJ22T I get too low of a CR (something like 7.7). I like the displacement, and since it's something down the road, I don't mind the wait knowing that it's very likely to be widely available (although it might require VIN verification on the STi part vs the Forrester part)

AFAIK, EJ255 and EJ257 differs only in the valvetrain, so for a shortblock they should be the same? That was what I read in the other threads I have found.
