I usually did 2wd/4wd offroad in terms of R/C Cars.. I still have the Associated worlds car from 5 yrs back. That thing still runs smooooth. Rebuild the diff and put in a new slipper clutch and 13turn motor and that thing flies!!

as for on road touring (which is everybody's thing these days) I'd go with the Yokomos. If I can get into races again, I'll probably start with the Tamiya TA04s (I think that's the newest version) with the belt drive AWD.
