I have an HPI RS4 nitro Racer, a Schumacher SST 2000 (4wd electric), and Tamiya 103 Formula One (2wd electric). I personally enjoy being able to pop in a battery and go, taking the gar car out is a pain. A nice electric car can be lots of fun and easy to use, and with the right motor and battery can be really fast. I love the Tamiya 103 it costs under $100 w/ motor and is very fun if you find other people to race with. I have about 5 friends that have the same car and if everyone runs the stock engine it makes for very exciting and long races, we get about 15 min of run time with matched 2000's.
The Schumacher is also a very good car but I would shy away if it's your first car, it's more difficult to assemble than the HPI's
