OK, here's the situation. My 98 Outback 2.5L has just over 84k miles. Lately when I start it, it puffs oil smoke out the tailpipe for like 5 minutes, but then stops once I get out on the road and the engine heats up.
I'm planning on taking it to the dealer ASAP, but does anyone have any guesses what the problem is? I had heard that cracked valve guides were a problem, but I'd appreciate any other ideas you guys may have. Let me know if I need to provide any more information.
