I'm not sure where exactly you're talking about with 'in the tray' but I'm assuming you have it on the trunk floor somewhere... You could always seal it up and run a PVC tube with a fan sucking the air out of there on one side and one running cool air into there on the other side of the amp. I think water/coolant cooling would be a bit nuts unless you're running the amp bridged with like a 1/2 ohm load. Soundstream (as far as I remember) were real good with low-impedence loads to begin with.
