Hey guys, I searched for anything on this and didn't get anything, so....
I'll be getting a new Forester XT MT in the next 2 weeks, but all of the ones that are in Virginia don't have the differential protector installed. I don't want to spend $100 on an install I could do myself. (Just another place for the dealer to make some money on me)
The question is, can a not-so-experienced car mechanic install one? I'm very mechanically inclined and love working on mechanical stuff (I've been a bicycle mechanic for 3 years).
I found the guide for the 2003 Forester Diff. Protector (http://www.subaruparts.com/guides/20..._Protector.pdf
and I've got all the tools (except jack stands which are cheap right?) I looks like I'd be fine, I just have to wait for the weather to cooperate
Thanks for any advice!
