Assuming it's the same as installing a protector on a WRX (from the instructions it looks like it is) the install is pretty easy if you have the tools to do it - I installed mine without removing the exhaust (which it seems to recommend) - clearance is tight for getting tools in there, which can be frustrating (and I have no clue how they get a torque wrench on those bolts... - I could on the rear two on the back of the differential (the nuts which you loosen and slide the protector under) but that's it.

The most annoying part is getting the side bolts through the spacers which go inside the differential protector... it will be much easier if you have small hands (or I imagine dropping the exhaust helps a bit, too).

You will want to be able to jack the rear of the car up quite a bit, then put it on stands so that you have room to move around under the car.

I'd say go for it!
