$6K will get you a REALLY good turbo kit with an awesome ECU to manage fuel/spark/boost so you don't blow your engine up.
Shiv Pathak sells one with a TEC-2, and Rally Knight is set to release another using either a Haltech E6K or Motec M4.
These are the only two preconfigured kits that I'd consider, seeing that most others either custom fit the system to the car, or use a combination of gadgets like S-AFC, ITC, voltage clamps, etcetera instead of an ECU.
With Shiv's or Rally Knight's kits, you're looking at 300+ reliable horsepower and torque without requiring any internal engine work. You may have problems with breaking gears in your transmission, depending on how hard you shift gears. If you can shift smoothly and don't drag launch it, you can get the stock gearbox to last quite a while. If you bang through the gears, and drop the clutch at 6200 RPM, you'll probably kill the trans in short order.
