Based on what I read in that post, I may simply drain ATF, drop the pan and clean the magnet and clean the screen filter, since it looks like I can simply clean the internal filter.
Yeah I see I need ThreeBond 1217B(also known as Fuji C) sealer for the pan. Is there also a rubber gasket part that fits between the pan and the transmission housing? Or does Subaru simply use the ThreeBond material as a sealer?

It looks like in this section that you remove the gasket and discard, and then replace using ThreeBond?
