When I was looking for a car, I was looking for something with 4 doors and a stick shift. I think I drove everything out there in the sub-$30K category that met those requirements.

I really tried to be subjective, and was really planning on getting a used car. But, after my trip to the Subaru dealer (I figured I had nothing to lose in going to a dealer of quirky cars), I was so head-over-heels <b>nutso</b> for the GT that nothing else came anywhere close.
I <b><i>had</i></b> to have it.
Almost 4 years later now, and I'm still in love with it...

*Okay. I actually wanted the Jetta, but their notorious electrical problems and made in Mexico were huge turn-offs.
