Howdy
I live in australia and we seem to have really bad fuel ( a BIG thank you to the oil companies....and we still pay top dollar for the 98 RON fuel even though is cr*p....), and I have a problem with the "Check Engine" light being on for most of the time while driving. When I went off Optimuck, and onto 98 RON Caltex Vortex which seems to have reduced the problem to almost zero.
The light was coming on in most driving conditions previously...
The dealer seems to think ( after recently replacing my air mass
sensor ) that it is the knock sensor. I have heard of resetting the
ECU and dont know how much of a help this will be.
Do other Forester/Suby owners have great respect for their Dealer mechanics or are they not worth the trouble?
I dont really drive the car hard at all, so its not like I have
thrashed it........
Any suggestions?
All help/wisdom welcome!!
