awesome, but if its still got the VF22 turbo, wheres the extra HP coming from? the heads cant help THAT much.

the '97 to '99 EJ20K engines are the best bang for the buck you can find. They were rated at 276hp in Japan and use the same block and head cores as the STi engines of that generation. The block it semi-closed deck and the heads are the big port variety that flow way better than USDM heads. One of the reasons for the change to using EJ205's(what was previously the EJ20 export market engine) in Japan for regular WRX's and EJ207's for Sti's was because guys with plain jane WRX's could easily get STi level power with a bigger turbo and a handful of bolt ons. That '97 engine is a superior engine to the one you blew up, and would be a worthy replacement for it.
Putting it in would be identical to replacing the EJ205 that you blew up. Just switch your wiring harness and sensors over to the EJ20K and bolt it in. Just make sure it is in fact an EJ20K and not an engine from Australia or some other export market...
