OOOOhhhhh a Touring Wagon. I dunno about Aussie-land but in the States, a raised-roof Touring Wagon is uber-rare!
The mileage shouldn't be an issue if it's been well-cared-for. A CV joint is basically part of the axle that drives the car. It might be best to have a mechanic do that for you if you're new to cars, but do check this website out. www.cvaxles.com
