OOOOhhhhh a Touring Wagon. I dunno about Aussie-land but in the States, a raised-roof Touring Wagon is uber-rare!

The mileage shouldn't be an issue if it's been well-cared-for. A CV joint is basically part of the axle that drives the car. It might be best to have a mechanic do that for you if you're new to cars, but do check this website out. www.cvaxles.com makes the best Subaru axles in the world as far as I'm concerned. They're only an hour away from me in Ocala, FL, USA, but they do worldwide applications.
