okay, last post before I crash. I still have to be at Miramar tomorrow @ 0900 to start the final prep and reinstallation of the built block back into the car...
Alan can build something very much like that block for around $3500 or so. I'll ask him tomorrow for a breakdown of what costs what. The crank is knife edged and balanced, tho they're pretty nicely balanced from the factory, and there's not that much meat on the counterweights to begin with, so you can't cut them up much.
Unforeseen circumstances prevented us from completing this portion of the build up as planned (I had planned on it being drivable at least by Thursday), but things are rolling along quite nicely now. After this, it's off to the fab shop for an equal length T-341 stainless header, then the turbo goes in, then the Motec with baseline maps, and when scheduling permits, a trip to the dyno and a certain gent from Motec USA's tender ministrations to the maps for the fine tuning.
The pieces are all starting to come together now. The months and months of gathering info are set to pay off!
