Currently, I'm leaving the heads alone. That's another step down the road after the car is sorted out and dialed in. The underlying philosophy here is to get the engine tuned and dialed in with a beefy shortblock and top drawer management first, then optimize more as driver skill and funds allow. I'm already thinking down the road to a FMIC, ported heads, bigger cams and honed intake manifold, but for now I'm leaving the intake tract more or less stock, aside from a big honkin turbo, that is.
I'm not sure if the MY98 DOHC intake manifold has a different bolt pattern than the SOHC, as I don't have a 99+ SOHC intake to compare with. I can take a pic of the mating surface tomorrow, though, so you can do a "stare and compare".
8C, yes, ASR supplied the whole shortblock assembly, case, rods, pistons, o rings, the whole shootin match. The shortblock has been ready for quite awhile already, as the pieces to make it are off the shelf, and don't require custom fabrication like up and downpipes. So Alan can get good turn around times on things like that.
