This bar is TIG welded, while the Sparco bar is MIG welded. MIG welds are nowhere near as strong as TIG welds and we feel that going the extra mile in this area is important because harness bars have a torsional load on them during hard cornering, and the bar also holds your harnesses which keep you safe. We don't want to chance MIG welds failing at the harness loops or on the main bar. As I've mentioned, these bars are hand TIG welded by a master TIG welder who has been in the business of welding harness bars, roll cages, and custom tube frame chassis since the 80's.

In addition, the TrueRace bar is made of a higher grade steel (chrome-moly) which is at least as strong as the steel Sparco uses, but weighs considerably less.

And lastly, despite the TrueRace bar having higher quality construction and materials, it costs less.
