I can relate to the noise from the rear of your Legacy, my '92 turbo had Eagle GT+4's mounted on the stock rims when I bought it. A friend who works as a service manager at the Chrysler garage told me my noise was from the rear tires. I took the car in for a 4-wheel alignment and sure enough, the rear alignment was off, hopeing the tires would eventually wear themselves quite again, but no such luck, 3500 miles later and still the same noise I was beginning to worry it may be more than just the tires. Two weeks ago I installed my 17" Speedlines/P-Zero's, no more noise! Turned out to be the tires after all. I hope your noise goes away as easy as mine did :-)
