I'm looking into wheels and winter tires right now for my '99 2.5GT. I'm debating whether to get another set of 16" OEM rims or to save some money and go with 15" rims. Does the 2.5GT have larger brakes than the lower model Legacies, and if so, will those larger brakes preclude putting OEM Subaru 15x6" rims on my car?
The Tire Rack has a 16" takeoff rim for $109 (not sure if it's the 2.5RS or 2.5GT rim) and a 15" OEM rim for $80 - over $100 cheaper for the 4 rims, plus the 15" tires are cheaper.
With all the Subarus here in New England, I'm sure I could find some rims even cheaper off a wrecked Legacy or Outback. I just want to know for sure the 15" will fit.
