For pistons, check 1stsubaruparts.com. Jake (unsung boxer) works there and he has 2.2T pistons in his Impreza L with 370cc injectors and an E-Manage. He is using a custom set of pipes with a TD04L turbo.

The FSB, would that be a strut brace or sway bar? I thought all 93-01 imprezas had the same size front sway bar?

Chad
yeah RS front sway bar... I measured and I'm pretty sure it was bigger (only 1 mm or so) than the one that came on the L. not sure how much it helped, but it was free.

Got to lookin under the 94 leggy today. The first snag with the easy swap of the 96 motor into it is that the 94 has dual exhaust port heads. The 96 motor has single ports, and the rest of the exhasut appears to be completely different (and not interchangeable) between the cars too. Not sure how to overcome that unless I can source a cheap takeoff legacy exhaust from someone with the newer single port heads...

I really hate the thought of swapping the heads between the two motors because A, the 96 motor runs perfect and I'd hate to mess with a good thing, and B, I'd rather keep the dual port heads available for the impreza since there's a decent chance I'll be bolting a wrx manifold to it.

Any thoughts?

Anything else I should look for when contemplating putting the 96 motor into the 94?

And since you mentioned Emanage, how does it work with boosted MAF cars? Are you clamping the MAF and tuning with the Emanage pressure sensor?

thanks again
