well, the bad motor is out of the leggy, and I'm formulating a plan.

I think I just scored a set of SOHC EJ25 heads for a reasonable price. I can dedicate those to the turbo motor. And now it doesn't seem like such a big deal to swap the heads from the dead 94 motor onto the 96 motor, which would eliminate the exhaust problem.

When I get to the turbo build up... Can anyone tell me what kind of compression ratio I'd get with the 2.5 heads on an NA 2.2 short block? Is it still worth using 22T pistons? what kind of diference can I make with head gaskets?

It still doesn't ell me eaxactly where I'll be with 99 2.5 SOHC heads on a NA 2.2, but does seem to indicate I'll lose a 1 to 2 on CR. Subtract that from 9.7:1 stock = proabaly somewhere in the 8 to 9:1 range. That sounds pretty reasonable for a low buck, moderate boost setup like I'm shooting for.

Can anyone confirm that?
