it's kinda trial and error because the angle you are working at, it is not easy and it may take a few trys to get right. Install gauge and turn on car so the gas guage, lights, stereo etc. work. Then place the needles to zero, make sure the metal pin that the needle is attached to lines up with the little white hole in the unit. then press straight back with firm steady pressure. It will take some pressure just make sure that the black ring is flush with face. Remember to line up and then press so the pin will go straight into the hole. Also remember that the Tac and the speedo are not the same length. The Tac needle is just slighly longer than the speedo, if it is reversed it will not spin right. The gas and temp needles are the same so you do not have to worry about that. Good Luck
