from what I heard talking to the SOA people at the last few meetings I've been at and at lunch at the auto show, progress on the hybrid is pretty slow, because it's going to stick to the subaru heritage and be a boxer hybrid, so they can't gank anyone else's design and modify it. They said 2010 would be realistic. that should be just long enough for the hybrid craze to pass, and Honda to be mass marketing fuel cell cars.
As for a 2 seat roadster.... I'd have to see it to believe it, but I've heard it's in the pipeline as well. I just don't think it will sell well as AWD, most vehicles in that market are RWD, except the TT, and that's questionably too upscale for Subie's market share.
