That cost was for the entire install start to finish, not just the drivetrain. You know how they say save an extra 1k for misc expenses? Well I blew that amount before I even had the engine in. For example, went to hook up my airbox - no MAF ($175), went to hook up my p-steering lines – cut at the rack ($199), missing O2 sensors ($200), new up & down-pipe - $350….etc…etc… Plus I was going from an AT to MT so had a large chunk of change wrapped up in pedal-box, clutch master/slave cylinder, hard-lines, shifter trim and knob, etc…etc… Also had my driveshaft and midpipe lengthened... the cost just snowballs
My point here is that there’s more cost associated with the swap then just that of the drivetrain. Especially under my circumstances as I was swapping tranny’s and diff’s as well.
But well worth it of course
