I may be going along these lines because the 10k just for a clip for a JDM STI engine is just too much right now not only that the WRX drivetrain is pretty hefty. a 2.5 drivetrain in a 93 wagon should be enough for now.
From what I have read, the 2.5 drivetrain is stronger than the WRX, has better ratios and if you choose to do a WRX swap down the road into the existing RS drivetrain it would be even better.
I don't know my exact path and I teter because of cost and all the things going on in my life, but at the end of this summer a different drivetrain will be in my car...
