The intake cam sprocket was still being turned by the timing belt and chewed up the plastic backing cover, but the intake cam was not turning. We drilled and easy outted the old bolt and replaced the broken parts and all is well again. Just a very odd experience.....btw, the sprocket bolt had signs of rust at the shearing point. It looked like it maybe had a hairline fracture from the factory and 102K miles of beating finally took its toll.
