News from the battlefield... Bill Harvey and I attempted the H6 rear brake conversion on his MY98RS. It will not work! The MY98 caliper has one bolting pin and one sliding pin whereas the MY99-02 Imprezas have two bolts holding the caliper to the bracket. If any MY98 Impreza or Forester owners (possibly even Legacy GT, not sure) want to do this mod, you need new (or used) calipers as well as the bracket (which is the same bracket as used on the WRX front brakes by the way ) and rotors. Picture below:


This pin bolts in on the MY98 bracket and just goes into the housing of the MY98 caliper and stays there, no bolts/nuts. The MY99-02 has the pins go through the bracket and bolt into the calipers. There is no provision on the H6 caliper bracket to bolt this pin into (ie: no threads). You could "arrange" something I suppose, but it's not a straight swap from MY98 => H6 whereas it is from MY99-02 => H6.
