If it's a whole EJ25D short block, you have 48mm rod journals and a #3 thrust bearing; invest in a good oil pressure gauge and run a 9mm or 10mm oil pump; make damn sure the pressure relief valve is polished. EJ25Ds eat rod bearings.
His pistons are installed the same way as the piston in your picture. And the rest of your post is regurgitated internet gibberish. The only good piece of your post is that he should run a 9mm (which is stock on Ej25s) oil pump...
