Guys, Yamaha has had a hand in the engine design of pretty much every performance Toyota. They're Toyota's default performance engine supplier/consulting firm. You can sort of think of Yamaha as Toyota's M or AMG division. They did substantial design work on the LF-A's engine, and the IS-F's.
The close relationship is why I think it's unlikely we'll see an affordable Yamaha automobile any time soon. LF-A style engineering chest thumping exercise? Maybe. Yamaha branded gen 4 MR2? Not likely. Much as I drool at the prospect.
As to this car design concept, it's cool but it'll be too expensive. If Yamaha wants to show off, I think a superbike statement piece is a better choice. Think 2014 version of the NR750.
