I went the cheap route before realizing all of what would be affected.....
Used my KYB AGX wrx struts and switched from Prodrive lowering springs back to stock wrx springs, talked Shane at Paranoid fabrications into making 1" versions of their spacers. 215/75r15 tires on Team Dynamics 15" ProRally wheels (stripped and repainted a nice metallic burnt copper...looks 10x better in person than what I can get in the pics)
This thread has some great info in it though, answers to all the problems I've come across
(rsb, cv joints, back tires just barely clearing the front of the wheel well, etc)
