I had the same concerns but realized that it was just because I had put a Borla header on... The shrouding of the stock exhaust manifold muffles the normal "clicking" of the valvetrain. The Borla (or any) header has thinner guage steel and no shroud, therefore emitting more noise. It immediately became apparent when I compared my car next to a stock TS.
This, of course, is if you have a header.
