Default Cobb Accessport V2 Stage 1

So I heard a lot of people saying that Stage 1 made very little difference on their otherwise stock cars and should be installed only if planning down the road to go with Stage 2. I have a 2002 WRX with very light mods: Grimmspeed Uppipe, Perrin Crank Pulley, STI timing belt, Exedy Clutch and stock flywheel, Group N Pitch Stop, engine mounts and tranny mount.

Here are my observations:
Boost is much more linear and stronger. It pulls nearly immediately to 15 PSI and stays there through about 5,000 rpms when the turbo runs out of efficiency. Fourth and fifth gear pulls are awesome.

It idles and runs much better in general.

I did some street pulls using Dynolicious on my iPhone and it shows as promised, an additional 40 horsepower (260 at the crank with a 25% drivetrain loss). Looking at my datalogs, it shows a maximum boost of 15.52 PSI with an A/F of 11.27, which seems rich, and 85% duty cycle on the injectors.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the results and am looking forward to going to Stage II.
