I agree with you it can be a fast drag racer with slicks, but in real world conditions...90% of new owners will be using them on the street. Here they will be getting pulled over for tire screeching launches or abusive high end pulls on the highway, exceeding the speed limit of course.
However, what happens when rain hits the ground? It'll be as slow as the non-turbo neon next to them if not slower due to the low torque.
What happens when too much power/torque on a light FWD car is coupled with trying to keep a fast line in a corner? It'll understeer like a SOB.

I don't deny the fact I would purchase one if I had the additional $ to spend, but I would only drag race it. Slicks and all. It would be a fun ride, considerably inexpensive, easy to gut throw a cage in and repair.
