Subes are great for high mileage. Good oil and the normal stuff maintained. there are more freak occurrences with the ej engines, but thier are alot of miles to be gathered. I had at one point 3 subarus in the driveway, 2 being parted, miles near 800k between them. My latest is an old school, given my work under the hood, I sincerely wondered if it hit 1 million. Came from alaska in 97 to maine, hood had battle holes , I put in the third set of axles, exhaust, etc. some things didn't ad up but shrugged it off as correct in the 110k miles range (from alaska through the woods the whole way or what?). that does put the four subes that kept each other going near a million. I have carried the engine myself with clutch still attached up a flight of stairs and know it is an amazing engine (the boxer fours) every aspect exceeds inline equivelant. EVERY.
