Nope. The drive pully is turned by the crankshaft, which is lubed by the oil in your car. Drive pulleys don't squeal for this reason. Don't let that guy scare you. The point was to lube up the bearings and shafts on ALL the rotating bits that your drive pulley, well drives. Getting some on your belts will not hurt you any, but try to avoid it if possible. It is not possible to lube the bearings and shafts without getting some on your belts.

This is just to rule out any bearing/shaft dryness causing your noises.
