I seem to have bad luck with WRX after I pay them off. My 04 wrx broke a piston rod doing 85 on the highway a month after it was paid off (but it had 160,000 miles)
Now I've had an 07wrx for 3 years, havent hit 60,000 miles yet and paid it off in 01/2014 to end up with what could be anywhere from a $160 tactrix cable and some tweaking or up to $3,000 from the dealer due to this cel that has plagued everyone here.
Part of me just wants to kill the code with a tactrix and drive it till something happens. My wife on the other hand thinks I should sell it...which I won't let happen because that's what she made me do with the 04.
