Default Will a 08 STi engine work in a 09 WRX?

I recently blew piston 4 in my 2009 WRX. And have been looking at my options as far as new engines. Currently I'm between two. A rebuild kit with importimageracing, for an AWD tuning block and other parts. Now that's the sure thing but expensive route.
There is also a complete 2008 STi engine, originally 2600mi before rebuild. The group who rebuilt and blueprinted and made everything better was justice racing engines. Now no one in my Subaru group has ever heard of them. I've asked a few tuners as well. But since the rebuild will cost almost 2x more then having an alrdy complete engine. I'm more inclined to get the complete and sell mine as a project. The guy said it was a backup for his teams rally car. But never used it. Sat for 3 years.

But now the issue is... How difficult is installing a 2008 Sti engine into a 2009 WRX?

I'm told intake, and something about variable timing cam on exhaust.
Also, will my ecu need to change? If so
Do I need a STi cluster?

I've done google searches and searches on here. And none quite like this one. Usually newer to much older. Or vice versa.

Any comments appreciated! Just trying to budget a solid build!
