I'm no lawyer (thank heavens) but I think denying a warranty for a K&N filter would violate the Warren-Magnusson act (I think that's the name).
Whatever the name of the law, it forbid companies for denying warranties on the basis of using aftermarket oil/air filters, etc.
But to challenge a denied warranty on those terms would requires lawyers (shudder) and all that BS.
I personally use K&N filters and I accept that I may be increasing risk of engine damage if only by the extra strain that a few more liters of airflow they create.
