Default Sokie Tech hood dampers

Ok, so I ordered a set of the Sokie Tech carbon fiber hood dampers listed on eBay. They are $80.00 shipped from Tawain. I have a lot of carbon accents on the car, and wanted to maintain the theme. These were the cheapest I could find anywhere.

Anyway, They took about a month to receive because there was a problem in customs. The shipping dept. didn't fill out the label correctly. Apparently they didn't disclose the claimed value on the shipping label, and the dampers were returned.

So, I had to wait an additional 2 weeks for them to arrive. But they came very well pakaged. The kit is complete with all required hardware included. The carbon weave is very nice, even, and tight. I did order mine without the decal to ensure a cleaner look. They did come with a small warning label stating not to incinerate, open, contents under pressure, blah blah blah. It's just a small sticker that was very easily peeled off.

The install is very straight forward. Takes probably 5-6 minutes total. The pivoting ends came greased so that movement is smooth and precise. The actual smoothness of operation is not quite on par with the set of Vision hood dampers I have on my Integra, but then again I paid well over a hundred dollars for those.

The dampers are very strong. I would not recommend these for a carbon or fiberglass hood. I also would not let go of the hood while raising it, as it seems the force could possibly damage something.

Overall I would say if you want hood dampers in carbon fiber, buy these.
I'll post some pics of the dampers installed when I get home later this evening.
