Hi Ho Silver!

Default

I got into MTBing in the 90's so I'm more of a XC guy. I honestly think the reason DH and freeride/all mountain has taken over the sport is because you need 70% nerve and 30% strength/endurance. Therefore, it is easier for a couch potato to go out on the weekends now and then and be a "Mountain Biker" you just need guts. With XC, you need to put in hours to keep a certain fitness level. It was more like being a roadie with more bike handling skills and less strategy. Hell I remember when a hard tail with 80mm of travel was radical. Just my .02(signed closet weight weenie)
